Doctor and physics engineer, holding a PhD in Physics on the topics of nanotechnologies applied to biomedicine. He was founder and CEO of Haloris Nanotechnologies, a biosensor company for in vitro diagnostics, and worked for Siemens Healthcare as an in vivo imaging expert prior to returning to academia. Presently, he is a senior scientist at the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL).
