Research Summary:
Throughout my career, I have focused on the physiological underpinnings for the treatment of hypertension. While hypertension is a multi-faceted disease, I have focused my research primarily on neural and renal contributions to the development and maintenance of hypertension. Most recently, we are focused on aberrant renal afferent nerve activity and renal inflammation as a primary driver of hypertension.
