ANA KARINA OLIVEIRA

CAMPINAS / SP

Ana is a postdoctoral research fellow at Mass Spectrometry Laboratory at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials, Brazil.

She received her M.Sc. degree in 2009 in Biotechnology and her Ph. D. in Biochemistry in 2015. During these years she acquired a background in protein chemistry, proteomics, hemostasis with an emphasis on platelet function, cell and molecular biology of the tumor, and the crosstalk in the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME). In 2018-2019 she worked as a Visiting Researcher in the group of Prof. Jay W. Fox at the Stem Cell Core Facility of the University of Virginia.

Currently, she studies the proteins contents in extracellular vesicles (EVs) from oral cancer cells to understand their role in tumor microenvironment interaction, immune regulation, and cancer progression. She also interested in new molecular targets that can predict and guide immunotherapeutic responsiveness.
