Short c-vitae: Dr. Humbero Bizzo holds a Master's Degree in Natural Product Chemistry and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, 2001). He worked at the Research and Development Center of Souza Cruz S.A., Roche Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals S.A. and Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. He is currently Researcher A of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Company (EMBRAPA) and Professor of Postgraduate Programs at the Institute of Research on Natural Products and Food Science at the Institute of Chemistry, both at UFRJ.

He has experience in the area of Natural Products Chemistry and Food Science and Technology, working mainly in the following subjects: Essential Oils, Aroma, Volatile Plant Substances, Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry. He acts as manager and technical manager of the Multi-user Laboratory of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry of EMBRAPA. He is associate editor of The Journal of Essential Oil Research and a member of the Standing Scientific Committee of the International Symposium on Essential Oils.
