MARIA JOSE ALVES DA ROCHA

Associate Professor at the School of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (USP), where since 1999 teaches human physiology for Dentistry and Pharmacy students.  She conducts research on “Neuroimmunoendocrine and Cognitive alterations following sepsis”. Master´s degree in Pharmacology and PhD in Physiology was obtained in the same University. She was postdoctoral fellow at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University, USA (1990-1991) and the University of Tübingen, Germany (1991-1996). She was member of the Education and Teaching Commission of American Physiological Society (APS) and chair of International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS) Education Commission (2009-2018). She was member of International committee of APS between 2012-2014 and is member of the Teaching Commission of SBFIS (Brazilian Physiology Society) since 2004 and Secretary of INeC (Institute of Neuroscience) of  USP, Campus Ribeirão Preto since 2017.Guest Editor for the Journal of Neuroendocrinology 2017-2018 and was appointed member of General Assembly Board of IUPS.
