VAGNER ROBERTO ANTUNES
Associate Professor at Department of Physiology & Biophysics, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the Former President of the Brazilian Society of Physiology (SBFis). Master and PhD degree in Physiological Sciences at the School of Medicine of Ribeirao Preto, University of Sao Paulo, 2000 and 2004, respectively, and Associate Researcher at the University of Bristol, England, UK (2004-07). The focus of my research is to understand the mechanisms of neural control of circulation with emphasis in autonomic nervous system dysfunction in animal models of diet-induced hypertension (high fat & high salt) based on signal transduction pathways and molecular interactions within the specific autonomic nuclei that control arterial pressure.
